YOUNG ARTISTS ENSEMBLE

Presents

THE ADDAMS FAMILY

THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Young Artists Ensemble presents THE ADDAMS FAMILY, School Edition directed by Autumn Bodily with Musical Direction by Susan Treworgy-Calkins and Choreography by Whitney Grubb. Performances are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays November 1 - 17, 2019 at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 West Hillcrest Drive.

Addams Family: School Edition begins when Wednesday Addams has fallen in love with a sweet, smart boy from a normal, respectable Ohio family — the most un-Addams sounding person one could be! To make matters worse, she has invited him and his family to their home for dinner. In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change.

ADDAMS FAMILY:  School Edition is the first production in Young Artists Ensemble’s 39th Annual Family Theatre Season.  The season continues with FANTASTIC MR. FOX performing January 30 - February 16, 2020 and will conclude with FREAKY FRIDAY May 1-17, 2020.

Season tickets are available for all three shows with flexible days and times and start at only $30 for adults, children, students and seniors for the Super Discount Friday performances on the second or third Fridays of each production, or tailor your season for $39 adults and $33 children, students and seniors.  Individual show tickets are $19 for adults and $16 for children, students and seniors.  Tickets can be purchased at the box office, or by calling (805) 381-1246 or visiting www.yaeonline.com. 10% discount for groups of ten or more for a single performance only, not available for season tickets.

On Sunday, June 3, 2019, Young Artists Ensemble received 25 nominations and eight wins for their 2018-19 Productions.  Winners in the 14th Annual National Youth Arts Awards included Outstanding Production: In the Heights, Outstanding Ensemble: The Little Prince, Outstanding Choreography:  Mayme Paul for In the Heights, Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical: Sarah Kay as Nina and Patrick Mayoral as Usnavi in In the Heights, Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Musical: Quinn Martin as Vanessa in In the Heights, and Outstanding Supporting Performance (Junior Division): Chloe Skye Garcia as Fox and Maddie Ragsdale as Rose in The Little Prince.  Among the many nominees were performers and creative staff from Young Artists Ensemble’s productions of In the Heights, The Little Prince, Charlotte’s Web, Once Upon A Mattress, and Mary Poppins Jr
