Move it… Move it over to the Herberger Theater Center

for the Arizona premiere of Valley Youth Theatre’s

Madagascar, A Musical Adventure opening tonight, October 28th, 2017

(Phoenix, Arizona) Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) invites you to “Move it, Move it!” over to the Herberger Theater as Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip, hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins bound onto stage tonight, October 28th, 2017 at 7 pm.

Adding to the opening weekend excitement, zoo keepers form the  Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park are visiting with some special guests, including a lowland streaked tenrec (found in Madagascar). Animal exhibits will take place tomorrow, Sunday, October 29th, after the first show at 2:15 pm and before the second show at 3:45 pm.

This production is the perfect show to introduce children to live musical theatre. It is filled with all the blockbuster film’s outlandish characters. Take a trip with these silly animals as escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.

The Arizona premiere of Madagascar, A Musical Adventure opens in Stage West October 28th and runs through November 19th, 2017. It is based on the best-selling DreamWorks film, adapted for the stage by Kevin Del Aguila, it features upbeat music and lyrics by George Noriega and Joel Someillan.

Madagascar is co-produced by the Herberger Theater Center (HTC) and Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) and will be presented at the Herberger Theater Center in Stage West, 222 East Monroe Street Phoenix, AZ 85004 in Downtown Phoenix. Ticket prices range from $17.50 to $35.50, not including fees.  For more information or to purchase tickets call the Herberger Theater box office at (602) 252-8497 Monday thru Friday 10am – 5pm or Saturday & Sunday 12pm – 5pm or visit www.vyt.com.
