Temecula Performing Arts Company presents the fast-paced children’s musical, Junie B. Jones, Friday, November 7 thru Sunday, November 16, TEMECULA, CA –

Temecula Performing Arts Company (T.P.A.C.) a resident company of the Old Town Temecula Community Theater presents Junie B. Jones, a musical based on the books by Barbara Park.

Precocious, lovable Junie B. Jones stars in a colorful, funny, fast-paced musical about new friends, new glasses, sugar cookies, the annual kickball tournament, and other various first-grade angst-ridden situations. Follow her adventures as she writes down the story of her life in her “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal.” This musical is based on four volumes in Barbara Park’s Junie B. Jones series of books, illustrated by Denise Brunkus and published by Random House: Junie B, First Grader (at Last!); Junie B, Boss of Lunch; Junie B, One-Man Band; and Top-Secret Personal Beeswax: A Journal by Junie B (and Me.   The production is directed by national award winning youth director, Jillian Stones and choreographed by Caitlin Vecchione. The scenic design is by Neil Kapple, and the costumes are by Cindy Haley. This 70-minute musical is recommended for audiences age 4 and up.  This “Theatre for Young Audiences” presentation features both youth and adult actors and stars Katie Herron and Naomi Morales alternating in the title role of “Junie B.”.

Junie B. Jones premiered Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in July 2004, began its national tour in fall 2004, and a second national touring company began touring in spring 2005. The show returned for engagements at the Lortel Theatre in November 2005 and March 2008.   Temecula’s presentation of “Junie B. Jones the Musical” is the first regional or community production to open on the West Coast after Music Theater International made the rights available for licensing.  TPAC is very excited to be presenting a “ Brand New” show for local audiences.
