The Quiltmaker’s Gift Returns to Theater Works

The Musical Play Honoring the Joy of Giving Opens December 5

 

 

(Peoria, AZ) Theater Works presents the Master Works production The Quiltmaker’s Gift opening Saturday, December 5. This holiday favorite based on the book by John Brumbeau, tells the story of a greedy King and a generous Quiltmaker who teaches him that giving is the gift.  Celebrating the values of generosity and community, this charming musical is enjoyable for all ages. The book was adapted by Alan J. Prewitt,  music by Craig Bohmler and lyrics by Steven Mark Kohn. “This delightful musical is packed with humor and presented with aplomb.”  – Kerry Lengel, The Republic, azcentral.com. The Quiltmaker’s Gift will be on stage December 5 - 20, 2015.

 

Valley actor Josh Vern returns to the production as the Chorus King, this being his second production with Theater Works this season, first having appeared in the season opening production of Man of La Mancha.  After a small hiatus from Theater Works productions, Barbara McBain returns to the stage as the Quiltmaker. She was last seen at Theater Works as Mama in Mama Won’t Fly in 2013. Cydney Trent returns to The Quiltmaker’s Gift, this year as Director in addition to the role of choreographer.  The Quiltmaker’s Gift also sees the return of Executive Director Daniel Schay to the Theater Works stage as “Old Man”. Serenity Starr Foreman, Josh Pike, Desirae McCall, Katie Hart, Zander Trisoliere and Skylar Washburn round out the cast lineup.

 

The Quiltmaker’s Gift will be on stage at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts December 5 - 20, 2015.  Theater Works will open the new year with the hilarious musical I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, all about that contemporary conundrum known as “the relationship” on stage January 22 – February 7, 2016.
