A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the Whole Family

(San Diego, CA) – San Diego Junior brings one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies to life in Balboa Park. Filled with lovers, fairies and mechanicals, A Midsummer Night’s Dream has something for everyone: love potions, mistaken identities and the most famous play-within-a play ever written. The language, poetry, and wit of Shakespeare shine as brightly as the moon in this timeless classic. This 90-minute, fast-paced comedy directed by Justin Lang is a perfect introduction to Shakespeare for any young person.

According to Lang: “Working with young people on Shakespeare has been incredibly rewarding. I’ve tried to expand their lenses and perspectives on the world. It’s rewarding because I see students taking into consideration their own words and actions, virtues and flaws. They are holding a mirror as 'twere up to themselves.”

Tickets to San Diego Junior Theatre’s production A Midsummer Night’s Dream are $12 - $18. The production plays March 9-18. Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:00 pm with an additional performance on March 12 at 6:00 pm.
