Come with me and you’ll see a world of pure imagination at San Diego Junior Theatre. 

San Diego – San Diego Junior Theatre kicks off their 63rd season in Balboa Park with Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka. The search for a Golden Ticket is on! In this fun-filled, world-premiere stage musical based on Roald Dahl's beloved children's novel, a sweet-natured boy named Charlie and four other winners get the tour of a lifetime in a mysterious candy-maker's fantastical factory.

Featuring many memorable songs - including "The Candy Man," "I Want It Now!", and "Pure Imagination" - Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka is a scrumptious musical theater treat for the entire family. Alumnus Matthew Novotny is the lighting designer and the show features an ensemble cast of 54 students from throughout San Diego.   

Directed by San Diego Junior Theatre’s Artistic Director, Desha Crownover, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka opens at the Casa del Prado Theatre in Balboa Park, October 29, and runs through Sunday, November 14. Performances are at 7 p.m. on Fridays, and at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $8 - $14.

San Diego Junior Theatre embarked on its 63rd season with nine productions at their sites in Balboa Park and La Jolla. A private, non-profit organization, Junior Theatre is dedicated to providing all youth, ages 3 – 18, an opportunity to experience theatre arts through innovative classes, camps, performances and outreach programs.
