Pippi Longstocking Arrives in Balboa Park 

San Diego – San Diego Junior Theatre presents Pippi Longstocking, the stage adaptation of Astrid Lindgren’s beloved classic about the adventurous, independent Pippi and her friends. Pippi Longstocking is directed by local composer, director and lyricist Rayme Sciaroni, who has been collaborating with Junior Theatre for several years. Sciaroni has directed several San Diego-area productions; this is his directorial debut with Junior Theatre. 

The show opens at the Casa del Prado Theatre in Balboa Park on Friday, March 5, and runs through March 21, 2010. Performances are at 7 p.m. on Fridays, and at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. There will be an ASL-interpreted performance on Saturday, March 20.

San Diego Junior Theatre has embarked on its 62nd season with nine productions at their sites in Balboa Park and La Jolla. A private, non-profit organization, Junior Theatre is dedicated to providing all youth, ages 4 – 18, an opportunity to experience theatre arts through innovative classes, camps, performances and outreach programs.
