SAN DIEGO – San Diego Junior Theatre (SDJT) continues its 59th season with the holiday production of Madeline’s Christmas at their satellite location in Downtown Chula Vista. Beloved schoolgirl Madeline learns a timeless lesson in compassion when she cares for her classmates who cannot go home for the holidays. This memorable holiday adventure is based on the story by Ludwig Bemelmans. Directed by Evangeline Bistko, Madeline’s Christmas opens Friday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. The show runs for three weeks with show times on Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 and 4pm

In an exciting collaboration with the La Jolla YMCA, SDJT is proud to bring the holiday classic production of A Charlie Brown Christmas at the Firehouse in La Jolla. The deep-thinking Charlie Brown contemplates the meaning of the Christmas season, with a little help from his friends. This well-loved classic by Charles M. Schulz is based on his Emmy and Peabody award winning television production. Directed by Jennifer Winspear, A Charlie Brown Christmas opens Friday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m.  The show runs for three weeks with show times on Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 and 4pm.  Ticket information for both shows is available by calling the box office at (619) 239-8355 or online.   Additional information can be found online at www.juniortheatre.com

SDJT is the oldest continuing children’s theatre program in the nation. Now in our 59th season, SDJT focuses on enriching the lives of children through the magic of theatre arts.  With our expansion to a third site at the La Jolla YMCA Firehouse building, the availability of Junior Theatre classes and camps stretches from the South Bay to North County, serving even more youth in the San Diego area.
