Audience participation is urgently needed when the Emperor finds himself in the mythical kingdom of Mango-Chutney in My Emperor’s New Clothes at San Diego Junior Theatre. 

Photo by Ken JacquesSan Diego – San Diego Junior Theatre takes on Larry Shue’s creative translation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story. Directed by Ruff Yeager, My Emperor’s New Clothes opens June 30 at the Casa del  Prado Theatre in Balboa Park with performances through July 16. Audience participation is required to help overtake the villains!  Laugh along, sing along and be warned…. the enjoyment is contagious.  Recommended for all ages, tickets to the show are $7 - $12, and can be purchased at the site or by calling the Junior Theatre box office at (619) 239-8355.  

Junior Theatre has embarked on their 58th season with thirteen productions for three locations (Balboa Park, Chula Vista and La Jolla). Their primary mission continues to be to provide all youth ages 4-18 the opportunity to experience the theatre arts through innovative classes, camps and outreach programs.
