Riverside Youth Theatre Presents

BRING ON THE CONTEMPORARY:  SONDHEIM TO FOSSE TO BROWN

Riverside Youth Theatre continues it's 12th season with a new musical revue written by Debbie Wolgemuth.

 

Bring on the Contemporary:  Sondheim to Fosse to Brown is a two act musical revue showing how the American musical transformed from the Golden Age of Broadway into the contemporary period.  We will perform the works of two key players in the transition:  Stephen Sondheim who developed the concept musical and Bob Fosse who transitioned musical dance from strictly ballet to jazz.  Our students will performs songs from various contemporary musicals including Les Miserables, Jersey Boys, West Side Story, Annie, Oliver and finishing with the music of Jason Robert Brown.  Our cast features students from 5-20 years with direction by Debbie Wolgemuth, Music Direction by Sarah Horn and Choreography by Rebecca Park Sandlin and Michael Milligan.

 

Bring on the Contemporary will be performed on:

 

March 2, 3, 9, 10 @ 7:30 pm

March 4, 11 @ 3:00 pm

 

at CrossWinds Theatre, 29263 Ironwood Avenue in Moreno Valley.  Tickets at the door are $15 with cash and checks accepted.  Tickets purchased through the theatre’s website, www.RiversideYouthTheatre.org are discounted from $10-$12.  Seating is not reserved and doors will be opened 30 minutes before each performance.
