Poway High School presents the musical “All Shook Up”  

Poway, CA – Poway High School is once again getting ready for their production of All Shook Up.  Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley.  All Shook Up is a 2005 American jukebox musical with Elvis Presley music and with a book by Joe DiPeitro.  The songs of Elvis Presley form the backdrop for this musical about a mysterious, leather-jacketed stranger who shakes up a Midwestern town in the 1950’s.  Librettist, Joe DiPietro’s tale of the cross-dressing, mistaken identity and romance that ensue was inspired by Twelfth Night and other Shakespearean comedies.  

Opening Friday February 6, the show boasts a cast of 39 energetic students featuring Trevor Haumschilt as Chad and Rebecca Dhillon as Sylvia.  Other cast members include Natalie Marriott as Lorraine, Emily Medile as Sandra, Charity Monroe as Natalie, Emily Nunn as Matilda, Leif Proctor as Dennis, Noah Sims as Dean, and Austin Thatcher as Earl.   

All performances start at 7:00 pm, playing February 6, 7 and 12, 13, 14 at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, 15498 Espola Road, Poway, CA 92064.  Adult tickets are $14, with students and seniors at $12.  The students and creative staff are very eager to share their latest musical offering with the community.  

The production is directed by Matt Herman and Katie Wilson.  Katie Wilson, Artistic Director of Rising Star Theatricals and the Visual and Performing Arts Chair and Drama Director at Cathedral Catholic High School.  Joining the artistic team are Choreographers Paul and Amy Stine.  Nancy Gray, PHS Director of Choral Activities returns as musical director and Sly Sybilski, conductor and PHS instrumental music teacher.
