This inaugural year will include youth productions reviewed in Arizona, California, Colorado, and Nevada. Those eligible for the awards include anyone involved with shows reviewed by National Youth Theatre. The Youth Awards are considered for all actors in youth productions age 19 and younger, adults who participated in the youth theatre productions backstage, and any minor (under age 18) who performed in a reviewed adult production.

These awards were started simply as a way to congratulate and thank some of the amazing people who contributed so much to our theatre entertainment over the year. Traditionally an award "year" runs from the beginning of June to the end of May, with the winners announced on this website by the first week of June. This year we expect to announce the award winners on May 29.

On Monday, June 12, 2006 the First Annual National Youth Theatre Awards will be presented at the Garfield Theatre in the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center located in San Diego's beautiful La Jolla area. Home of J*Company for the past several years, they are once again generously donating the use of their state-of-the-art, 495-seat theatre space, as well as their professional assistance, for this year's festivities.
