Musical Theatre of Anthem Presents Musical Favorite

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat  

Endearing Entertainment for All Ages  

Anthem, Ariz.  April 28, 2014 – Musical Theatre of Anthem (MTA) presents the Tony® Award-winning Broadway hit, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, based on the biblical saga of Joseph and his eleven brothers. This popular musical favorite, featuring the music and lyrics of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, has charmed audiences worldwide with its excitement and energy. An award-winning cast, ages 10 – adult, brings to vibrant life the tale of Joseph and his coat of many colors, with performances running May 29 – June 1 in Anthem.  

Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.  "I am so excited about this highly entertaining and energetic show,” said Jackie Hammond, MTA’s Producing Artistic Director and Joseph Vocal Director. “The music has something for everyone, and the mega mix in the last nine minutes will make you want to dance and sing along!”  Hammond is joined by Director Laura O’Meara and Choreographer Amanda Paige.  

Performances take place May 29 and 30 at 7:00 p.m., May 31 at 3:00 and 7:00 p.m., and June 1 at 3:00 p.m. at Musical Theatre of Anthem, 42323 N. Vision Way, Anthem, AZ  85086.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.musicaltheatreofanthem.org.  Adult tickets are $18 and Students, Seniors and Children 12 and under are $15.
