Two rival summer camps battle for bragging rights!  Summers at Camp Rock-- the ultimate camp for aspiring musicians-- are always full of fun and music. But things are a little different this year. When competition from a flashy new music camp, Camp Star, threatens to close Camp Rock's doors, the kids themselves jump into action. Camp Rockers decide to get themselves into tip-top performance shape and challenge the Star Campers to the ultimate showdown.  Who will win bragging rights at the end of summer?  Will anyone jump camp, and will any lessons be learned from this rivalry?  Based on the hit Disney Channel Original Movies Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, this upbeat musical includes such songs as "This Is Me," "Can't Back Down," "It's On," and "We Rock."  Camp Rock characters include Mitchie Torres, played by CJ Smith (Lake Michigan Catholic High School); and brothers, Shane, Nate and Jason Gray (originated by the Jonas Brothers) played by Patrick Hill (Lakeshore Middle School), Mitch Conrad (Michigan Lutheran High School) and Andrew Buller (Lakeshore High School).  Camp Star’s talent is led by Dana Turner, played by Ellen Schrock (Upton Middle School); with Luke Williams played by Kuanas Hardnett (Coloma High School).  With 90 top talented kids from all over Berrien County, Camp Rock is sure to be a high energy show packed with great songs, dance, romance, and a bit of growing up, all in the great Disney tradition.

Choreographer for the show is Lea Thomas, a dance and communications student at Western Michigan University.  Lea comes to Kids On Stage from a recent internship with the Walt Disney World Company as an entertainer. Through performing daily, Lea was able to participate in a condensed version of Disney's Camp Rock Movie called the Disney Channel Rocks workshop.

The production is directed by Doug Fordyce, owner and director of Kids On Stage.  Kids On Stage is sponsored by Bridgman Family Dental, Select Tool & Die, Supreme Casting and Ott Insurance Agency.

Disney’s Camp Rock the Musical is the eleventh production of Kids On Stage, a National Youth Theatre award winning children’s theatre company dedicated to the development of life skills in children through the performing arts.  Kids On Stage is an opportunity for school-age children to grow in self-confidence and communication skills by preparing and performing high quality musical productions.
