Highland Players Summer Youth Theater

Presents Urinetown: The Musical

The Highland Players Summer Youth Theater begins their production of Urinetown: The Musical, Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 at 7 pm in Helix’s Little Theater. The show continues Aug. 4, 9, 10, and 11 at 7 pm, and two matinees, Aug. 4 and 11 at 2 pm. Helix is located at 7323 University Ave., in La Mesa. The theater and parking are located at the rear of campus, off of Lowell St.

A grand and winking loveletter to the conventions of musical theater, Urinetown depicts a town wracked by ecological disaster, caught in the throes of corporate greed, and ultimately felled by the best intentions. In a Gotham-like city, a depletion of the earth's water supply has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The privilege to pee is regulated by a single, malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero has risen who will lead them to freedom...plus the music's so happy!

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by going to members.cox.net/highlandplayers. For more information, contact Gregg Osborn at gosborn@helixcharter.net or 619 644-1940, ext. 366.
