FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28 AT THE MARQUEE IN DOWNTOWN HARTFORD

Hartford, CT (October 25, 2011) - Broadway favorites and real-life couple Matt Cavenaugh (West Side Story) and Jenny Powers (Grease) will perform "Direct From Broadway," a concert to benefit Hartford Children's Theatre, at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 28 at The Marquee (960 Main Street) in downtown Hartford. 

Cavenaugh and Powers will perform selections from their new album "Gonna Make You Love Me" and musical favorites from their Broadway careers including:

"The Best is Yet to Come"
"Sunday Kind of Love"
"You Send Me"
"I Get Along Without You Very Well / Bent"
"Smother Me With Kisses"
"Some Other Time"
"Maria"
"Worse Things I Could Do"
"NYC / Tomorrow"
"More Than I Am"

"You've Got Possibilities"
"Let's Don't"
"Making Love Alone"
"I Can Cook Too"

Tickets range from $50 - $75 and are available for purchase online at www.hartfordchildrenstheatre.org. All tickets include a one hour open bar and a variety of hors d'oeuvres. Red Carpet Level Tickets are $75 and include a pre-show champagne reception with the stars from 5 - 6:00 pm, complimentary parking and an autographed copy of "Gonna Make You Love Me." Patron Level Tickets are $50 and include an open bar cocktail hour and the performance. All proceeds benefit Hartford Children's Theatre.

Matt Cavenaugh received an Outer Critics' Circle and Drama League nomination for his performance as "Tony" in the Tony Award nominated revival of West Side Story. Other Broadway credits include Grey Gardens, A Catered Affair and Urban Cowboy. He has been seen in numerous regional theatres across the country including Connecticut's Goodspeed Opera House.

Jenny Powers was last seen on Broadway as "Rizzo" in the Tony Award nominated revival of Grease, as "Meg" in Little Women and "Gina" in Happiness at Lincoln Center. Regional credits include Dangerous Beauty at the Pasadena Playhouse, Of Thee I Sing and Follies at NY City Center Encores!

"Gonna Make You Love Me," Cavenaugh and Powers' debut album is now available for purchase. The ten-track recording features unique cover versions of classic rock, traditional standards and contemporary pop. "Gonna Make You Love Me" follows the journey of two people searching for and finding love in one another. Titles included are "Somebody to Love," "Sunday Kind of Love," "I Wanna Be With You, "I Think We're Alone Now," "You Send Me" and "The Best is Yet to Come."
