CCT Announces 2009 Season

San Diego County – CCT Musical Theater announces its 30th season of the best in fully-staged Broadway-style musical theater for the whole family. CCT’s season opener, our 3rd annual Senior Follies, will be performed at the East County Performing Arts Center June 19-28. This fantastic musical revue will transport audiences back to the best music and dance of the twentieth century. From Ragtime to Big Band, from Swing to Barbershop, this show has it all!

The second show of the season, Let Freedom Ring, will be performed on the Midway Aircraft Carrier (August 21-30), with all new comfortable seating! Come with CCT as we celebrate and honor our armed forces with a spectacular patriotic tribute. This is a show you won’t want to miss. For two weeks only, LIVE on the flight deck of the USS Midway. This historic aircraft carrier was a part of every war era since the end of WWII, through the Cold War, Vietnam and the war in the Middle East. Celebrate the music and stories that this ship also shared with the over 225,000 Americans that served her well.

CCT’s 2009 season will close with the 17th annual Traditions of Christmas - A Musical Spectacular (December 10-23), also at East County Performing Arts Center. Since it’s beginning, in 1993, over 250,000 people have enjoyed this colorful, holiday family entertainment event. Using a wide variety of music, dance, drama and color to bring "all your favorite Christmas traditions to life", a cast of over 140 volunteer performers from San Diego communities present a variety of production numbers ranging from Rockette-style precision kick-line dancers to child-sized Christmas elves singing and dancing in Santa’s workshop. The show concludes with an inspiring live Nativity pageant, complete with live donkey, sheep and majestic camel.
