Curtain Call Youth Theatre presents its Spring Production and auditions for the Teen Summer Musical!

 (Agoura Hills, Calif. – May 16, 2017)

At the beginning of this year, Playhouse 101 opened its doors and with it, Curtain Call Youth Theatre found a new and permanent home.

Curtain Call Youth Theatre will present (in repertory) both “The Odd Couple” and “The Odd Couple: Female Version”.

“We jumped through many hoops to prove that our actors were up to the task of this adult-themed comedy by Neil Simon” says Producing Artistic Director, Jeff Wallach “And we were extremely grateful when been given the green light.  Everyone involved is ready for the challenge and it shows in the work and dedication of these actors”.

This classic comedy opens as a group of the guys assemble for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it's no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger, who has just been separated from his wife. Fastidious, depressed, and none too tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds, Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born.

In “The Odd Couple: Female Version”, Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon's hilarious contemporary comic classic: the female version of The Odd Couple. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same.

The group includes a rabid cheerleader, a blind man who follows the game by transistor radio and does his own play by play, a bathing beauty, a nerd and various other bleacher denizens. As the game proceeds, they bet among themselves on every conceivable event, go out for frosty malts or beers, try to pick up the bathing beauty and, occasionally, watch the game. The Cubs inevitably blow it in the ninth and the villainous Marvin, who always bets against the Cubs figuring he can't lose, cleans up. The bleacher bums remain undaunted they will be back tomorrow to root for the home team.
