Get Ready to Rock: Children’s Theatre Presents “Schoolhouse Rock Live!”

From April 19 - May 4, Children’s Theatre of Charlotte takes audiences back to the ‘70s with “Schoolhouse Rock Live!”. The classic Saturday morning cartoons that taught millions of Americans about history, grammar, math, and science come to life in this toe-tapping musical.

"Conjunction junction, what's your function?" "Lolly, lolly, lolly get your adverbs here!" "I'm just a Bill..." If you want to sing along while reading these lines, you might be one of the millions of Americans who grew up with the Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series “Schoolhouse Rock”. The musical version revives the best of these tuneful, animated songs, wrapped into the storyline of a young teacher terrified of facing his first class and looking for a way to really inspire his students. Whether you have fond memories of watching the originals in pajamas, discovered the cartoons on a retro-hip website or are excited to introduce a new generation to these catchy musical lessons, “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” is the show for you.

The professional cast includes Caroline Bower, Kashanna Brown, Nicia Carla, Robbie Jaeger, Lawrence Levine and Mark Sutton as the nerve-wracked teacher. Children’s Theatre’s Artistic Director Alan Poindexter and Ron Chisholm are co-directing “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” with Drina Keen as Music Director.
