JOSE, CA – (DATE) CMT Mainstage continues its 40th Anniversary
Season with Jekyll & Hyde playing 2 weeks, March 7 - 16, 2008.
All performances will be held at the Montgomery Theater, downtown San Jose
(corner of Market and San Carlos streets). Tickets are now on sale,
ranging from $14 - $22. Special Target® Family Matinee performance
Saturday, March 8 at 2pm, all tickets $11.
Jekyll
& Hyde is a
musical masterpiece which evocatively battles between the good and evil
structure of humanity. Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story
about a brilliant doctor whose experiments with human personality create a
murderous counterpart, Jekyll & Hyde is pure pulse-pounding theater,
combining the thrills and excitement that fuels such classics as Sweeney Todd
and The Phantom Of The Opera.
Jekyll
& Hyde is
directed and choreographed by CMT’s Artistic Director, Kevin R. Hauge.
“It is always thrilling for me to work with Mainstage performers on such a
dramatic production,” says Hauge. The pop score, dramatic tale, and mature
themes of the production help fuel our performers to produce a most sincere and
passionate piece of work. Time and again, I am awed by the dedication and talent
of these 14 – 20 year old performers”.
Jekyll
& Hyde opened on
Broadway in 1997. Following its impressive four year Broadway run, the
production still today continues to tour both the national and international
circuit, captivating audiences with its thrilling score and haunting tale. CMT
Mainstage first produced Jekyll & Hyde in 2001, impressing audiences
with its cast’s mature rendering of storytelling and production qualities.
CMT
is proud to renew their ongoing sponsorship from the Target® Corporation. The
first Saturday matinee of each 2007 – 2008 production will be a Target®
Family Matinee with all Mainstage prices fixed at $11. The Jekyll &
Hyde Target® Family Matinee will be Saturday, March 8 at 2pm.
