CMT TOPS THE CHARTS WITH DISNEY’S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

SAN JOSE, CA – (June 27, 2007) Children’s Musical Theater San Jose presents Disney’s High School Musical July 13 – 22, 2007 at the Montgomery Theater in downtown San Jose (corner of Market and San Carlos streets). Tickets are now on sale to the public for $16 adults, $13 children 12 and under. Special Target® Family Matinee performance Saturday, June 14 at 2 pm, all tickets $7.25.

Disney’s High School Musical made its debut on the Disney Channel last year and since then has become one of the most popular made-for-TV musicals world wide, winning countless awards and hitting the top of the billboard charts for its soundtrack. The stage version follows the movie, including all original songs in addition to a few new tunes to the score written specifically for the stage.

CMT’s production of Disney’s High School Musical features 240 young performers ages 10 -1 4 alternating roles in three casts. The high-energy production is directed and choreographed  by CMT alumni, Josh Miyaji and Kikau Alvaro who both eagerly joined the artistic team of one of the theater company’s most anticipated productions of the Rising Stars season. “We wanted to stay true to the original movie, while making sure we’re able to feature all the talent of our three casts,” says Miyaji. “All of our performers have accepted the challenge of perfecting the moves and style of the production and High School Musical promises to be a highlight of the summer for audiences throughout the Bay Area”.

The first Saturday matinee of each 2006 – 2007 production is a Target® Family Matinee with all Rising Stars prices fixed at $7.25. The Disney’s High School Musical Target® Family Matinee will be Saturday, July 14 at 2 pm.
