The Academy for the Performing Arts presents

Peter and the Starcatcher

The award winning Academy for the Performing Arts Theatre Department will be presenting the fantasy comedy Peter and the Starcatcher Thursday through Saturday, April 6-8 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, April 9 at 2:00 PM at the Historic Huntington Beach High School Auditorium at 1905 Main Street in Huntington Beach. Playwright Rick Elice and composer Wayne Barker based this play with music on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson 
This tale of an orphan boy who meets a female hero who is a starcatcher battle pirates and natives in this origin story to Peter Pan opened on Broadway in 2012 winning 5 Tony Awards. 

Andy Jacobson plays the unnamed orphan boy who becomes Peter Pan, Isabelle Krajewski plays Molly, the starcatcher and Coleton Ray and the notorious pirate Black Stache. Other cast members include Matthew Miltimore as Prentiss; Christopher Delfino as Teddy (the lost boys); Valerie Robfogel as Mrs. Bumbrake; Daniel Lesnick as Lord Aster; Max Vallocchia as Smee; Lucy O’Connell as Slank’ Taylor Thomas as Fighting Prawn; Catlynn Yates as Teacher and Jake Schroeder as Alf. 

Two National Youth Arts winning alumni return to APA to work on the show. Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play, 2014-15 Alex Jean for It Runs in the Family who did Peter and the Starcatcher professionally at PCPA, where he earned his associate’s degree, is the assistant director and fight choreographer. Outstanding Original Music. 2011- Stella Monshaw for Tom Jones will be the accompanist. Stella is completing her degree in Music Performance at Chapman University.
