About Kortnee Rumph
I created new footsteps and began appearing in plays at
the age of five, such as The Tale of "Robin Hood". It was at that time that I
also discovered my love for music. My mom started teaching me to sing and I was
fully into it. By the age of eleven I began singing in my elementary
performances such as my promotion ceremony. At the age of thirteen I appeared in
my first off Broadway production of a musical review. Me and my family moved to
Florida in 1998 and I quickly got into doing plays there too. I continued to
land large and leading roles in the plays such as "Weather Report", "Endangered
Species", and "Jungle Book". I also played lesser roles in plays such as "It's A
Wonderful Life". I continued acting and singing and soon became one of the first
middle schoolers to do a full musical review of the hottest shows on Broadway
and not to mention the longest running. I then began singing this time I
followed in my mother's footsteps, she coached me in singing more and then
!
I moved on to musical theatre. My first major musical theatre performance
was The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, I played the role of Chip. Later
that year I started doing more musical theatre productions such as Hairspray
where I played the role of Link. Then later in the winter of 2006 I was cast to
be Benny in the hit musical "Rent". Being a big fan of musical theatre I was
thrilled to be a part of this musical movie project in which i get to showcase
my singing, acting and dance skills.
